About SCO
Do you want to keep playing instruments but have a hard time managing time with all the school work, part-time jobs, and other activities?
Do you want to start playing an instrument, but have a hard time joining an orchestra?
Do you want a place where you can freely play your instruments with others?
If you said yes to any of those above, please consider joining us!
Sophia Chamber Orchestra (SCO) was established in 2005, and we meet all the criteria mentioned above.
Sophia University has several different music-related clubs, but we at SCO focus on freely playing our instruments without any pressure, so even students who are busy with study or jobs can come and play at their own pace. We meet and practice once every week, keeping the practice and work well balanced, and enjoy club activities while interacting with other members.
We welcome everyone to join regardless of their instrument, university, year, or experience♪
If you are interested in joining or want to visit us, please contact us! Let’s play and enjoy music together♪

We get to play in a big hall in Tokyo! As we are a part of Onkyo group at Sophia Univ, We get to play in one of their biggest concerts. Some of us also join the Joint Orchestra(Wind) and/or Grand Orchestra as well. It is one of the biggest concerts held by the Onkyo Group.
November
Sophia Festival
We form ensembles and perform in the Sophia Festival.
